    AlSaloum: Technical and vocational training aims to increase strategic partnerships with the private sector

    The Director-General of Technical and Vocational Training in the Eastern Province, Muhammad bin Sulaiman Al-Salloum, reviewed during a Tuesday meeting, which was held remotely on Tuesday, January 13, 2021, the ongoing projects and training facilities provided by the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation in the Eastern Province, as well as partnerships institutes and private training facilities in the region.

    Al-Salloum said that the projects that the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation is working to implement in the eastern region aim to increase the volume of strategic partnerships with the private sector and increase the number of male and female trainees in the region, pointing out that the number of training facilities in the Eastern Region is about (15) training units with the number of trainees and trainees (about) 22773), and the number of graduates until the year 2020 AD is about (4419), and that (11280) has been accepted in 2020 AD, and it covers each of Dammam, Hafar Al-Batin, Al-Ahsa, Qatif, Jubail, and Khobar.

    On the other hand, he stated that the number of private training facilities in the Eastern Province is 192, between private centers and institutes, which have set up a lot of training programs during 2020 AD, including developmental and rehabilitation courses and diplomas, of which about 520 thousand beneficiaries have benefited. Al-Salloum also indicated that the Foundation's ongoing projects are being deployed in most governorates of the region and include replacing buildings for technical colleges, establishing new technical colleges, completing the construction of the College of Tourism and Hotel and the Institute of Architecture and Construction in Al-Ahsa, in addition to constructing modern buildings for some secondary industrial institutes in the region.

    Al-Salloum concluded by saying that in addition to the training facilities spread in the Eastern Province, there are (10) strategic partnerships such as the National Institute for Industrial Training, the Saudi Arabian Drilling Academy, the National Academy for Information Technology, the National Training ​Center for Facilities and Hospitality Management, the Pioneering National Academy, the Saudi Technical Institute for Petroleum Services and the National Institute for Technology Inspection and quality assurance, the National Maritime and National Energy Academy and the National Construction Training Center.
